- The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien was a Japanese single-engine, single-seat fighter aircraft that was used during World War II. It was designed by the Kawasaki company and was the first aircraft to be mass-produced with a liquid-cooled inline engine. The Ki-61 Hien was primarily used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service (IJAAS) and was deployed in the Pacific theater, where it saw extensive action.
